Manufacturing is core to Central Virginia’s economy

Home to more than 300 manufacturing companies, the Central Virginia region designs and produces everything from pill packets to satellites. The region has a strong cluster of manufacturers employing both highly skilled and unskilled laborers. Manufacturing companies have two quality resources for advanced training: Germanna Community College and Piedmont Virginia Community College. Both schools offer professional certificates and welcome the opportunity to collaborate with companies to customize training programs.
